Berkeley Shambhala

2 February 2018-4 February 2018

Rev. angel Kyodo williams will have a talk and workshop on Courageous Compassion: Disrupting Societal Patterns and Institutional Oppression, together with Shashi Charlene Leung.

From their website:

In the face of today’s political and social unrest, is it possible to create a wise, kind, and strong human society? What does it take to establish enlightened human society, as the Shambhala teachings profess? Join Rev. angel Kyodo Williams and Shastri Charlene Leung in training to increase our capacity to embody wholeness and fearlessly create a society based on human goodness.

In this workshop, we will explore the connection between personal and social transformation. Through guided meditation, exercises, and dialogues, we will practice recognizing and disrupting self-limiting patterns as the very gateway to liberation—for self and society. We will learn to embody wholeness, reclaiming parts of ourselves that we may have cast away in seeking a sense of belonging. With daring, we can cultivate the internal resources to respond to our life and world, developing the resilience to create an enlightened society.
