On January 6th, 2022, across our nation, candlelight vigils lit a clear path forward for the U.S. Senate and President Biden. Every candle was lit as a voice demanding that our leaders support crucial, nonpartisan legislation, such as The Protecting Our Democracy Act (PODA), an historic package of pro-democracy reforms to create or strengthen guardrails preventing the abuse of executive power, restore Congress as a meaningful check on executive authority, and reinvigorate Congress’s exercise of its own constitutional power.
