Golden Milk Tea
by now you know that i’m a fan of loose leaf teas, whether from China, Japan, or the Indian continent. i also love spices conjured into “teas” & tisanes. as i prepared myself for the dreaded second vaccination shot, i had anti-inflammatories on my mind. the turmeric that gives golden milk it’s color is second to none, and when combined with it’s anti-inflammatory cousins, ginger and cinnamon, it’s healthy AF. it has been known to reduce joint pain, “bad” cholesterol, and blood sugar, increase brain function, reverse depression, and even ward off cancer. as the anti-everything holy grail: antibacterial, antiviral, antimutagenic, antifungal, and even more, what’s not to love acbout this golden fountain of healing drink?

METHOD:
like all good spice-based concoctions, everyone has a favorite recipe. when combined with your favorite milk/mylk. i’m a fan of Garden of Life because they ferment the turmeric and add ashwaganda, another herb wunderkind. but whichever you use, or making your own, i highly recommend the spiciest ginger you can tolerate, fresh if possible or a good powder. add some extra black pepper and even cardamom. hot is good.
