Matcha Cold Brew
my memory began to slip a bit as of late. the RAM type when something is just beyond the tip of your tongue and no amount of stretching brings the word back. fortunately i did remember that i hadn’t been drinking matcha as regularly. since play is big on my list for the summer, i appreciate the “relaxation without sedation” effect of theanine. i’m happy to now remember that’s the word. i remain loyal to Breakaway matcha. their Original cold brew has a lively peppery kick that dazzles rather than dulls so getting my clinical 4-5 grams per day is easy. i’m eyeing their new Reserve blend now, too.
METHOD:
nothing could be easier than preparing cold brew matcha: 2 grams (1/2 teaspoon) or get the skinny single serve packets. Breakaway and Art of Tea are my favorites. drop the green gold into 12-16oz of ICY water — preferably in a tumbler or shaker-type thing — and shake vigorously. you want it much thinner than when served hot to get that light, breezy sunshiny day in a field of lush grass experience. i find matcha to be more refreshing than most black tea (except lychee) but the extra benefits and ease put it way out in front of the crowd.
